Shawntay’s School of Creative Nails is more than a beauty school — it’s a movement dedicated to empowering the next generation of nail professionals and beauty entrepreneurs.

Founded by industry leader Shawntay, a licensed Nail Technician since 2000 and graduate of Coppin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Management Science, the school was created with one mission: to transform passion for nails into profitable careers and thriving businesses.

Over the past decade, Shawntay and her team have helped hundreds of aspiring nail technicians become licensed professionals across Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, and Georgia. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and real industry insight, students don’t just learn nails — they learn how to build a future.

Before dedicating her full focus to building the School of Creative Nails, Shawntay served as an educator for Baltimore City Public Schools, directed multiple recreational programs, and volunteered with organizations including Maryland Special Olympics and Empowerment Temple Church. Her commitment to education and community has always been at the heart of everything she does.

Shawntay is also a respected artist and entrepreneur. Her nail artistry has been featured multiple times in Nails Magazine, and she has been recognized as one of Baltimore’s Best Entrepreneurs. In addition to education, she has successfully owned and operated multiple salons and spas in the Baltimore area.

Today, Shawntay’s School of Creative Nails continues to expand its impact by helping beauty professionals grow beyond the classroom.
